The club has become connected with "I Love Peoples" founder, Josee Lusignan some time ago. Josee has been to visit the club on several occasions and the club has made commitments to fund some activities like the Shoe Box Program. They also decided to provide funds to support the end of the school year incentive awards program for students at the Kitiganik Elementary School on the Rapid Lake Reserve in Quebec (3 hours drive north of Ottawa/Gatineau). The community has a population of 800, of which 600 members are full-time residents. The community members are part of the greater "Algonquians of Barriere Lake".

Kitiganik Elementary School offers JK to Grade six and a special program called Teen Class which is offered to all junior high school students. After junior high, students are required to head away to either Val d'Or or to Maniwaki to complete their school and live with host families during this time.

Club memeber, Dave Rooke was able to travel to the community and attend the incentive awards ceremony to recognize the hard work of the students. The highlight was seeing the smiles on the faces of the children, the teachers and parents as names were called out to receive their rewards.

It is important that the club continue their efforts with the incentive awards and recognize those students that show excellence in their studies.
